Hit The Reset Button With Interior Detailing
Deep Cleaning Carpet And Upholstery Step By Step
The start of the interior cleaning process of a professional detailer begins with removing all of the owner’s belongings. Next, the mats are removed from the interior of the car and cleaned outside of the vehicle in order for the mats to dry quickly by the time the rest of the vehicle’s interior has been cleaned. The carpets and carpeted mats are then brushed and vacuumed to remove loose dirt and debris. An enzyme pre-treatment is applied liberally and allowed to set.
Fun Fact: Enzyme treatments have the power to attack tanning stains (brown or yellowish stains), protein stains (bodily fluids, dairy, and some food spills), oil-based stains (grease, lotion, etc), and dye-based stains (ink or color transfer.) Normal carpet cleaning chemicals will improve the appearance of the carpet, however they only remove soil from the area, thus essentially “cleaning the stain” but not actually removing it. Enzyme cleaners actually attack the molecule of the stains, breaking them up so they are easy to remove with extraction.
Once the enzyme pretreatment has soaked into the carpet, the carpet is scrubbed, followed by the application of a carpet cleaning solution. The carpet is scrubbed one last time before loosened soil and leftover chemicals are extracted from the carpet. While removing dirt and soil is an obvious goal, a professional detailer understands the importance of removing as much of the carpet-cleaning chemicals as possible. Leftover chemicals can have an unpleasant odor and can actually attract dirt faster by basically “cleaning” the bottom of the customer’s shoes. A hot water extractor is used to loosen dirt and help dry the carpet more quickly. The carpets inside the vehicle are also dried by using an air mover or using a vehicle climate control system, which removes moisture from the air. The professional detailer will also take notice of and suggest additional add-on services that may be needed such as carpet deodorizing or fabric protection. A professional mobile detailer is an expert at cleaning and protecting all of the surfaces of a vehicle. By prioritizing regular carpet and upholstery cleaning, the car’s driving experience will not only be aesthetically pleasing, but essential for maintaining a healthy environment free of allergens, unwanted harmful bacteria, and improved air quality.
